FUJI ROCK ROOKIE A GO-GO舞台,預計7月25日演出。

Taiwan’s Creative Summer Goes Everywhere at Once
In July 2026, the Taiwan Cultural Expo runs across two venues simultaneously, a Taiwan-origin illustrated character IP is at San Diego’s comics and pop-culture convention, and a Taiwanese band is scheduled to perform at FUJI ROCK on July 25. Three things colliding in one summer. Not a coincidence — a tempo.
Cultural Expo: When Exhibitions Start Talking Business
The 2026 Taiwan Cultural Expo introduced a reservation system for the first time, with a dual-venue format spanning the Air Force Command Headquarters site and Nangang. The logistics adjustment is minor. The signal is not. When a cultural exhibition starts operating on IP commercialization logic — when the question shifts from “how do we display this?” to “how do we license this?” — it has become a different kind of room.
Portfolio walls gave way to licensing terms. Designers started describing themselves in the vocabulary of rights holders. Buyers started factoring Taiwan’s visual language into product roadmaps. No announcement marked the shift. It simply happened across several cycles.
PAJI and 馬子狗 at San Diego
San Diego’s international comics convention is probably the single densest concentration of IP capital in any given year. The audience there does not come looking for cultural curiosity — they come looking for the next character that will matter. PAJI, the Taiwan tiger illustration IP, and 馬子狗 chose to show up there this year.
Neither entered as “Asian-inspired design” or leaned into folk-art framing. They arrived as complete characters with their own internal logic. That distinction is not subtle. In a venue where IP scouts have seen everything, a character that requires an exotic premise to explain itself is already at a disadvantage. A character that simply exists, with its own visual rules and world — that one has a shot.
From a curatorial standpoint, the test for any character IP is not cultural origin. It is whether the character has a coherent self: recognizable, consistent, extensible. The Taiwan tiger either passes that test on its own terms, or it doesn’t. The convention floor will tell.
浮現音樂 at FUJI ROCK, July 25
(Floating Music) has been selected for the FUJI ROCK ROOKIE A GO-GO stage, with a performance scheduled for July 25. ROOKIE A GO-GO is not the main stage. Its function has never been to host the already-famous. It is where a band gets placed on the map for the first time — where a first impression becomes a permanent coordinate.
A music festival set has no subtitles. No explainer slides. Just sound, open air, and however many minutes the slot allows. The outcome depends entirely on what happens in that window.
Three Exits, One Shared Posture
For a long stretch of time, Taiwan’s creative ecosystem leaned on a “being discovered” narrative — waiting for international press to write the story, for overseas curators to make the selection, for foreign licensors to come knocking. That posture made some sense when fewer creators competed for the same attention. The current moment has too many creators from too many places all outputting simultaneously for passive waiting to be a reliable strategy.
Showing up — at the dual-venue expo, at the San Diego convention floor, at the mountain stage in Japan — is a different calculation. The result is not guaranteed. But the position is established.
July 25, 浮現音樂 takes the FUJI ROCK stage. That part is already decided.
